The popular digital art museum teamLab Planets is getting bigger in 2025. Located in Tokyo's Toyosu district, teamLab Planets is known for its colorful interactive artworks. In 2023, it was announced as Asia's Leading Tourist Attraction by the World Tourist Awards. And from January 22 next year, the space covered by the teamLab Planets museum will be getting 1.5 times bigger, with new, family-friendly, educational areas containing lots of new artworks. Here are some of the highlights. Athletics Forest Athletics Forest is a creative athletic space containing several artworks that visitors can move through using their whole body. In one artwork, Rapidly Rotating Bouncing Spheres in the Caterpillar House, visitors can run across turning spheres and see how their footsteps change the spheres' colors and patterns. In another artwork, Balance Stepping Stones in the Invisible World, visitors can walk across stepping stones that change color, wobble and make a sound when stepped on. Catching and Collecting Forest In this space, visitors can use a smartphone app to catch, collect and study the extinct animals they see around them. After studying them, they can release the animals back into the space. Future Park This is an educational amusement park where visitors can enjoy creating art together. Sketch Umwelt World, for example, is an artwork in which you can draw images of planes, birds or butterflies and then watch them fly in front of you. A Table Where Little People Live is an interactive table with little animated people on it. Visitors can interact with the little people by placing their hands or other objects on the table. Sketch Factory In this area, visitors will be able to get original souvenirs of the drawings they made in the museum's artworks. These drawings can be printed on badges, hand towels, T-shirts and bags that they can take home with them.
