From South America to Eastern Europe, Lonely Planet's Best in Travel 2025 offers a range of countries, regions and cities for all kinds of travelers. First on the list of countries is Cameroon, located in central Africa. Lonely Planet recommends the capital, Yaoundé, for its architecture, and the town of Kribi for its white sand beaches on the Atlantic coast. For other tropical vacations, Lonely Planet recommends the beautiful waterfalls of Laos and the beaches of Vanuatu. Meanwhile, countries like Slovakia and Kazakhstan are among the top destinations for those who love hiking and national parks. When looking at the best regions, Lonely Planet puts America's Low Country in the top spot.
